I see Dane Neilson is surplus to requirements at Bradford and is returning to Australia. Not sure what the reasons are. His time at Bulls has been described as 'an unsuccessful stint' by an Oz paper. Bulls had the option to extend his contract for a second year but chose not to according to them. 2015 hasn't been a good year in his career.

That's cruel luck. Never can quite get my head round this sort of signing. Arranging and announcing a signing of a player more than a whole season away. 2016 season is a couple of months away and this signing is for the start of the season after that.

Sydney Roosters boss Brian Canavan has insisted Michael Jennings was in the club’s plans for 2016, despite speculation he is about to join the club he once despised, Parramatta. Jennings was linked with a possible shock move to the Eels for this season so the Roosters could free up some much-needed space in their salary cap to recruit Brisbane’s Dale Copley.

Having seen him operate in the team for so long I could see him moving into coaching and doing a really good job. I'd have liked to see him transfer into the coaching side coaching at the right time with Storm.

North Queensland coach Paul Green has an interest in luring Dale Copley to the NRL premiers now there is no place for him within the Broncos salary cap. Copley cannot remain within the Broncos salary cap for next year after they signed former Titans centre James Roberts on a two-year contract. Asked if the Cowboys could fit Copley within their salary cap for next year, Green said: “Not just yet.’’

So Roberts... the Titans offer wasn't good enough for him? Could it be that he'll sign for Broncos for a smaller deal than if he went to Dragons or Souths?

Young Jack Bird is expected to re-sign with the Cronulla Sharks in the new-year after reportedly telling the Dragons that his future, at least in the short-term, would remain in the Shire. The bloke has told it like it is for him - money has been a big factor in deciding whether he would continue to ply his trade in the black, white and blue, or move back to his junior club the Dragons.

The race to sign James Roberts is down to two clubs after St George Illawarra were told he would not be joining the Dragons next season. Roberts is now to decide if his future remains in Queensland with Brisbane or if he should make a return to his junior club South Sydney.

There does seem to be an unseemly glee in Roberts' new found freedom to roam after the trigger to release him was pulled within the club by the idiot and the ridiculous forged signature action: This while turning his back on Titans fans who as you said so well DSK have had misery piled on misery. Like all good RL fans lets hope that this turns out okay for them. Roberts is without doubt a good player and you can see why he is being chased. All the same question marks still hang around him and his character and his history of personal issues. I hope he does/has turned the corner and builds a good career. I too can't say that I'll be looking favourably at him after this though.

I'm a Fev Rovers follower and I can tell you Darryl Powell is the best coach we've ever had and I've followed the game from childhood.. I was privileged to see him work behind the scenes at the club and he's got clear ideas, communicates well and organises and recruits to a plan within budget. Cas did well to get him, and it's perhaps the only smart move they have ever made ........ :-D

... or realise they weren't going to get Roberts anyway...?

He should blend in well though with what they have ...Moylan,Whare and Watene-Zelezniak. It's getting the blend right. He sure won't weaken their side. His moving should free up some money for Manly to sign up .............
