But we are just a bunch of #### who deserve to be disrespected at every opportunity

I think we made a final in 2014. Maybe wrong but Leigh at Headingley rings a bell.

Who said I went to all the games.?

OK then you didn't,  but you dug someone out as a part time supporter because he (I pressume it was a he) has stated that they will choose their games. I have to choose when I can go now, because I can only afford to go to 2 per month and have only been to 2 away games this year. I went last night but would have struggled to afforded the final, but last night happened to be the night I had my lad for the weekend, so I CHOOSE to go that one. In hindsight my choice was correct.

    Still that's me a part-timer.

Will be interesting to hear Campbell stance, whether he will invest again only to have his pants pulled down at the finishing line, and next season Featherstone won't be the favorites (will that work in your favour as pressure will be off) it will be down to Wakefield to lose it.

Why appoint a coach that's won nothing replacing a player who had won loads as a player, for me that's where it started to go wrong, yes great players don't make great coaches, but also mediocre players will possibly be mediocre coaches.. As the case with James Ford, he went from head coach at York to assistant coach at Wakefield, attempted to undermine and over throw Applegarth with his Cuckoo tactics, got despatched at Wakefield once they cottoned on, goes to Featherstone and again does the same Cuckoo tactics to Long, resulting in Long Leaving, leaving Cuckoo Ford to have the whole nest to himself.. We'll that went well Mr Campbell didn't it, I'd fire him, clear out all the deadwood pinching money in the Featherstone team, and start again with more devoted players to the cause, get more local lads playing for pride in the shirt rather than a fat pay packed, the loser's yesterday wasn't the players.. They will simply jog on to the next pay packet, the losers were the fans and volunteers who back the club to the hilt, thru thick and thin and the wider community 🤔

    You've actually edited that, wow.

Not a full time supporter then. I go to as many games to support my team as I can. WIN OR LOSE.

Bully for you. I don't,  I can't afford to being a single dad on a part time wage, I'm still as passionate about the team as I've always been.

But of course you're a better supporter than both the gentleman and I because you go to all the games.

The players have no incentive to win with no promotion but will still receive decent contact money. So pay different amounts for winning and losing. That's how it used to be with the odd bonus thrown in for winning important and cup games. In Another Bloody Sunday about Donny the players were on £8 losing money .Training twice a week and playing Sunday. It could have been any amount winning money because they rarely won.Them lads played because they enjoyed playing rugby league unlike some of today's.Although i am not saying Fev players didn't try hard enough,London were better in most departments.

Players have little incentive, many cases to BE promoted. They are on good money at a good club, promotion would end many of their assosciaton with the club. Turkeys voting for xmas.

My mate Stuart Matthews played in that Donny team, there's one bit where he's tackling Danny Wilson (Ryan Giggs', dad)

It was filmed in 1979. Rovers play them with Dave Vickers tearing up the middle.

In 1979 £8 bought you 11 boxes of cigarettes which would equate to £130 quid now.

Stuart quite categorically has told me on many occasions that the players dreaded it rather than enjoyed it. The season after Donny had about 40 players 10 of them being SO Else, AN Other or TR Ialist.

  7. I for one didn't think we'd beat London. I said to Martin Vickers on the way in 'Let's hope you're scanning a ticket next week'

'Of course we will be' was his reply.

I am the world's greatest pessimist (although Robin will, as I'm sure he'll admit run me to a close 2nd) but you just get a feeling all sometimes. I've been urging people not to say 'we will put 30 on them' or 'at least we'll have home advantage in the final'.

A little over a month ago on the forum our fans were gloating over the fate of Cas.

    Nothing is decided in August!

All bragging does is create a facial omelette. We never learn from past experiences, some as little as 12 months ago....

The game was almost a facsimile of last year v Batley. 2nd best for 60 mins then throwing the ball about, but it being too little to late.

I personally have seen Rovers win the league and the cup, it's the younger generation that I feel for, my 11 year old boy, and I daresay many others were beyond disappointed that they won't be seeing their team at the top table. I'm a bit more pragmatic (pessimistic) in that watching any sort of Featherstone Rovers after April 1995 was a bonus. That said ....

Last night the best team won and the scoreline almost flattered us in the end.

Their tries were soft to say the least, Alex Walker, a player that we outed a couple of years ago scored two very simple tries past our left centre position with hardly a hand laid on him. Their second try could so easily have been kicked dead.

Our attacked lack punch, half backs didn't create, and what was evident was the fact that we didn't break a tackle until the hour mark.

Have we got anyone that can go the length of the field?

Their outside backs especially Grant and Macani were rapid. Time and time again this season, and last we've conceded by our wingers being outpaced, most notably by Halifax, several times.

I cannot for the life of me see why Connor Jones got so little game time, Craig Hall, Craig Kopsczak and Dane Chisholm weren't in the 17. Aekins has been a great servant this season but not as a stand off.

The biggest disappointment for me was the realisation of what this game stood for. I honestly don't know the direction the club will go in now.

The Chairman must be sick to the back teeth of sinking money in to the club. The stadium is amazing when you look at the dumps in the five towns, The CEO was stating recently that there is no other team as well equipped as Featherstone to go to the super league, we've even got Moretti in the bar now instead of the usual pish, but I fear that this was our last chance of SL football and that the light has finally gone out.

Then if we played our" reserves " being Fev we would have been fined for not playing our first team players..

Does that law apply in RL, I thought it was only football?  I remember a couple of years ago St. Helens played their academy side at Castleford on a televised Friday evening game, I don't recall any cone back on them.

Now the dust has settled I've got to laugh at folks complaining we conceded 22 points against thunder with a mismatched side who were always going to concede tries

BUT people are forgetting we scored 56 points again  we scored 10 tries again but that's not good enough for some so all I can say to the naysayers be thankful you're not a TO fan who lost again at Fax last night:kolobok_grin:

We didn't score 10 tries against Toulouse and Halifax though, they're the teams that matter as their likes will be whom we meet in the play offs. We won't score 10 tries against Toulouse and Halifax but we need to stop 4 tries.

  10. Hope I'm not being the harbinger of doom but I fear that we may have peaked already this season. Yesterday had a distinctly scratchy feeling about it and but for Mark Kheirallah the score could have been much closer.

The first half was really frustrating bombing several sets before completion. A couple of late tries in the first half effectively ended the game as a competition.

Rovers looked a little better going uphill in the 2nd half thanks mainly to Jono Ford's introduction on the left hand side. One thing Rovers desperately need to get right for the play offs is the half back pairing as this has seemed very disjointed since the departure of Riley Dean.

One more win ensures finishing top this should be secured with 4 games remaining although Bulls and Toulouse(a) will be tough tests. It is imperative that Rovers get home advantage in the play offs, hopefully this will happen, it is also a given that we should try to finish the regular season on a high as Batley have shown what going into the play-offs with extra momentum can produce.

On a positive note, Ford is back, Day, Yei and Bussey look quite close to fitness, and Josh H looks in good form on a health level, he won't play again this season but is hopeful to be playing once again next season.

Briscoe took a knock yesterday but was walking okay after the game and Hau was up and about after half time.

We also need the gods smiling on us in the remaining fixtures regarding injuries, I'm sure you'll all agree we've had our fair share yet again this season.

Scratchy performance, with quite a few errors today. Couple of worrying injuries, Hau and Briscoe.

Hau was up and about and bizarrely was trying to get back on the pitch at the start of the 2nd half, he had to be gently coaxed back into the changing room.

Briscoe was walking unaided after the match.

If Briscoe is out there'd be a place for Craig Hall on the wing, don't know what's happened to Kyle Evans but he'd be worth a try too.

Wakey said he was incharge if there attack until he left they did nothing, when he’s now left they can score points and look like a different team

we started the season with 2 of the best ever super league halves and looked good with whatever combination we put out

since Ford has come in it’s been a game of our pack is bigger than your pack and if that doesn’t work after 20 mins we don’t know what to do no one can create space gaz gale was scoring for fun and now doesn’t get a sniff

dare I say McDermott rugby was more creative than this

I was over in Hull on Sunday so couldn't make the Fax game, but I did get to the MKM to see Hull v Wakey. Just to take issue with your first paragraph; Hull were average, but Wakefield, on Sunday were one of the most clueless teams that I've seen for many a year.
