Not at all Nick - Sykes had a better game and the referee had me baffled at times. Are you saying that Beharrell is a poor kicker?
Hard to say. I haven't seen enough of his kicking to be sure who's the best, but the one he missed was on his "wrong" side and would have suited Sykesy much better. That said I haven't ever seen a RL team swap kickers based on which side of the posts the kick is. Sweeting would have kicked all of them with his eyes shut from what we saw in the friendly games but he seems even less popular than Aaron Hall (if thats possible
)
Whatever or whoever is the better it certainly cost us yesterday unfortunately......

I thought the lads were unlucky to lose today, did well to maintain their cool in the face of some very poor refereeing decisions in the first half particularly the 6 again calls. Couldn’t see the tackle that resulted in the first sin bin but it cost us 12 points. Newcastle are an ordinary team despite being full time and we really should have come away with at least a point. Pity no home game for over a month as there would be definite momentum to take forward.
Couldn’t agree more. Some shocking decisions in the first half by the man in green (BSJ will say poor discipline)
Ben Blackmore was best “forward” on the field.
We should have taken the two as you saySykes was awesome again (waiting for BSJ to pour cold water on that one) and should be the goal kicker
NO point picking poor old Aaron Hall if he’s only gunna play for five minutes and most importantly…..we very unlucky to lose.

No idea of the squad who will be available/selected. An unknown lad joining us on loan from Halifax to strengthen our second row options. Tom Holmes joining Sheffield on loan after some rumours that he might join us. So, who can tell?
I can't see anything other than another defeat, I'm sorry to say and, given that Batley are also playing Fev at home, a relatively modest crowd, hopefully bolstered by a few from Newcastle.
Squad out. Still missing too many.
That head knock Dale Ferguson took must have hurt.

Anyone think we might just sneak this one?

Going to take a big turnaround in effort, attitude and tactics to get anything from this game. I just can't see where it's going to come from though.
I notice Mark Aston was praising Bayley Liu for his offload game in this week's League Express. Liked him when he was at Dewsbury. Aaron Hall has an offload in him too, but we don't seem to see him much.
Will be going in blind hope on Sunday. Hopefully the home faithful can spur them on.
Offloads are banned. I’ve told you that before

Simply accept defeat will happen
Then anything else is a bonus
How about for a change we run a competition on how many will we score and concede in the next 3 games
Newcastle home
Leigh away
Batley away
My guess
For 32 against 138
And I'm not reight confident on 32 either
I’m not too confident about your 138 but I’ll cross my fingers

On paper this looks like it could be a tight match, after all the points difference is only 14 between us, Haven just having the better defence, but both only scoring 40 miserable points.
In reality, the Cumbrians on their own turf, will probably outrun us; after all they did win at Doncaster in the cup last week by 60.
Whitehaven 36-12 Dewsbury
FTS: Ryder
MoM: Beharrell
Att; 835
Decent effort CF. Only four points out.

Looking at score at Workington today I think we might have caught Sheffield on an off day

Whilst know most as a winger Blackmore has also played with merit in the centres.
Excellent....Lets hope he gets the ball occasionally......

Wasn’t exactly the position I thought we needed to strengthen but good player. Let’s hope he gets the ball

Just a reminder:
Keeping saying it and the records got stuck so I’ll say it again. It ain’t the results that are killing me it’s the style of rugby we are playing.

Not a great watch, soft tries for both sides. After defensive efforts against Sheffield and Widnes, LG must be disappointed at some of these. Have to say the team looks like it lacks leadership and heads go down very quickly.
Just watched the lowlights...Gotta feel for the poor Rams fans that travelled....

We haven’t had a natural leader for a long time unfortunately…..

Not a happy coach.
Indeed. This statement seems to sum up the last few years …
“The Rams pressed hard after the try but were unable to get over the line again”
As does this
“so the message was to complete sets and defend well”

Up beat as ever Graham, but apart from the odd bit of info garnered from your good self I never hear anything about injuries. I remember the good old days when we used to get updates on such things via the coaches/ club pages in the match programme. Remember those
. Much missed.
I take it all back. The excellent preview of the game with Lee, while hardly going into details, does at least outline what’s happening with relation to todays game. Thanks Lee and the team.

Ferguson still missing - decent strength squad otherwise.
Indeed. Maybe Aaron Hall will get a run out
would like to see Ollie Greensmith get a game too.
Sykes due a rest?

To be fair the club won’t know until later the extent of the injuries to players.Dale Ferguson was missing due to head knock. I think he’ll be back in squad this week along with,Walton,Annakin,Hall,Sweeting,Smith, hope so anyway.

Are the four players injured on Monday out for your trip to Derwent Park? I thought Ryder was your most dangerous player , we gave Fev a hard game so this should be a benchmark of where we are.
Good question and one which I can’t answer. The man in the moon is kept better acquainted with the injury situation at the rams than us fans
If you have a mole please ask him about Dale Ferguson and Jason Walton too.
-
Great effort from the lads. Gave 100% throughout and thought we looked excellent in the first 40 mins.
Just hoping all those injuries aren’t too serious
Great to see all the youngsters there so well done to Mark and the team for trying something different. Charging a tenner must have helped too and great to see it paying off.-

Not quite. This is in the "sending off sufficient" category, not an innocent verdict. Reckless rather than malicious.
Sending off was sufficient because it was more than sufficient. Never should have even been red carded. Simples.

Yes just seen it. So they didn't think either was a high tackle after all. Luckily it didn't cost us the game.

Thank goodness you’re around to remind us of the rules BSJ. The rest of us on here are idiots, but you know that already. I can tell from your many “helpful” replies.
