This week’s League Express gamestars

Huddersfield v Hull FC – Jake Connor

It’s never nice to see a winning streak come to an abrupt halt. But at least Hull fans can take comfort from the fact that the player who masterminded their downfall will be with them next season.

Jake Connor showed the Hull FC fans exactly what they’re getting with a stunning performance against his future employers.

Catalans v Wigan – Dan Sarginson

The NRL-bound star produced an all-action display that saw him score the opener and set up two further tries.

He’ll definitely be missed once he departs the Warriors.

Hull KR v Warrington – Iain Thornley

Thornley demonstrated the never-say-die attitude Rovers had throughout as he beat a host of Warrington men to grab their vital late try.

Very much an unsung hero for Rovers.

Leeds Rhinos v Widnes Vikings – Kevin Brown

The reported St Helens target was at his imperious best, guiding Widnes around the park magnificently all game to condemn the Rhinos to the bottom four.

You can guarantee that the Vikings will do everything in their power to keep their captain.

Salford v Castleford – Gareth O’Brien

The fullback scored one try, made another, and kicked the crucial three late penalties in his latest assured performance from fullback.

A candidate for signing of the season should his performances continue in this manner for the rest of the year.

Wakefield v St Helens – Kyle Amor

Amor’s powerful running combined with tireless tough tackling and superb support work more than earned the honour.

Perhaps a surprise inclusion in Wayne Bennett’s meeting, but on this evidence he is worthy of that place.
