On-loan Castleford Tigers forward Andre Savelio is being linked with a move to the NRL – with a number of top-flight Australian sides believed to be interested in the services of the youngster.
Savelio has fallen out of favour at the Saints this year but made an impressive start to life as a Castleford player on Sunday, scoring during his debut as the Tigers beat Wakefield in the final round of the Super League regular season.
But reports in Australia say that Savelio is being hunted by some NRL teams, with his manager admitting they are looking to tie him up with a contract.
“In Andre’s debut year he was compared to Sonny Bill Williams and didn’t disappoint,” Savelio’s manager, Liam Pride, from Insight Sports told Fox Sports’ Market Watch column.
“We have recently put Andre on the market and we’ve had strong interest from a number of NRL clubs.
“We would like to have a deal done for Andre as soon as possible so he can focus on finishing the year strong for St Helens.”
