Half Time Report: Wales 4 USA 8

The USA Tomahawks held a narrow advantage at half time of their Group D clash with Wales in Wrexham.

Stand-off Joe Paulo once again played a big part for the USA having a hand in each of their two first half tries.

However, it was Wales who opened the scoring, on 16 minutes Rhys Williams raced down the left wing and passed inside for Christiaan Roets to cross for a try that Lloyd White could not convert.

As it turned out Paulo had left his kicking boots behind as both of the Tomahawks tries went unconverted.

Their first, in the 21st minute came when Clint Newton took Paulo’s pass to crash over.

Craig Priestly raced to dummy half to give Paulo a quick ball and his pass to the wing saw Matthew Petersen score six minutes before the interval.
