Hull KR half-back Maurice Blair believes that despite two straight wins to start the Super 8s, the Robins are currently being “out-enthused” on the field.
KR have put themselves in a strong position to retain their Super League status by beating both Leigh and Halifax so far, but Blair wants to see more energy from his team ahead of the game against top-flight rivals Widnes Vikings this weekend.
“I just think we’re getting out-enthused, the energy is just not there, especially in defence,” Blair told the Hull Daily Mail.
“We were probably just disappointed how we didn’t stick to our game-plan. We made too many errors throughout.”
Blair also revealed he felt Hull KR were “all over the place” against Halifax last weekend despite emerging victorious.
“We didn’t know what we were doing. We were pretty much all over the place against Halifax.
“It wasn’t for a lack in intensity, we trained hard all week to get ready for the game but we were just flat.”
