Widnes Vikings have revealed that captain Kevin Brown will have the novel choice of deciding what kit the team wear each week in 2016.
The Vikings revealed their two kits for next season, both in Widnes Vikings’ black and white colours – one all black, one all white – and in a change as part of the Vikings’ One Club philosophy, there will be no designated home or away kit.
And in a unique twist, Vikings captain Kevin Brown will choose which kit the team will wear each match day with an all new “Captain’s Call” element.
Each week, the “Captain’s Call” will be publicised on the club website and official social media channels so supporters know which of the club colours to adorn on a match day.
Brian O’Connor, Vikings Marketing Director, said: “These kits embrace a real Viking element and the concept of having one kit as opposed to a traditional home and away design ties in well with our One Club philosophy. I would hope that Members and supporters will embrace both designs and adopt our chosen playing colours in the stands each week.
“Venture Studios have done a fantastic job once again with this year’s launch images which really capture the players’ personalities and show both kits at their best.
“I would also like to thank all of our 2016 partners who have helped to make the 2016 kit and kit launch possible.”
