Leigh Centurions head of rugby Derek Beaumont has confirmed that the club will go ahead with plans to become full-time next year, after they confirmed top spot in the Championship last weekend.
Their home win over Featherstone Rovers last Friday cemented their position at the top of the division – as well as confirming the largest amount of central funding for Championship clubs next season – and Beaumont says the team have “no weaknesses” as they look to build for 2015.
“We were thrilled to win the League Leader’s Shield because the plan was to finish in the top two and build accordingly.
“Things are going according to plan. We now want to win the Grand Final and will be full-time next season. We play a superb brand of rugby, we have a dominant pack and have no weaknesses.
“Our team spirit is also second to none. There is strength in depth and real healthy competition.”
