LEIGH LEOPARDS head coach Adrian Lam has had his say on speculation linking head of rugby Chris Chester with an exit from the Super League club.
Earlier in the week, All Out Rugby League reported that Chester was set to leave Leigh after three years at the helm, with League Express then revealing that Castleford Tigers is his most likely destination.
Chester has been a vital cog in the Leopards’ wheel in recent years, hiring Adrian Lam as head coach with the pair going on to oversee Super League promotion in 2022 and then Challenge Cup success in 2023.
If Chester’s exit is about to be confirmed, it would leave a massive hole in the Leopards’ recruitment and retention drive going forward.
Lam kept his cards close to his chest when discussing the potential exit, saying: “I’m not too sure, officially, what I can say on it.
“All I know is that I played with Chris Chester as a player and we’ve worked here together to achieve something unbelievable as a group and a club.
“I don’t know officially what’s out there but we are still great mates regardless of what happens.”
