Hull KR centre Liam Salter says the opportunity to test himself against some of Super League’s best is exactly what he needs at this stage of his career.
The 21-year-old was recalled to the side that faced Leeds Rhinos at Headingley on Friday as he and Craig Hall squared off against England internationals Kallum Watkins and Tom Briscoe.
Now set to face former Kiwi Junior Sa’u when Salford Red Devils arrive at the KC Lightstream Stadium on Sunday, Salter says it’s another challenge he will relish as he looks to improve each week.
“It’s good to be able to see how you are progressing each week,” he told Hull KR TV.
“Playing against somebody like Kallum Watkins was a big test. He’s a class player and you can’t take your eyes off him because one minute he’s there and the next he’s gone.
“The opportunity to play against some of those players is massive for me and I thought we did alright last week.
“There were one or two things that we got caught out on but they can be easily fixed and hopefully we can put those right for another big match on Sunday.”
