Maitua and Verlinden arrivals held up for Fev

Featherstone Rovers fans will have to wait a while longer to see overseas duo Reni Maitua and Ryan Verlinden in the famous blue and white shirt, after it was revealed their arrival in the country has been hit by more setbacks.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, chief executive Pat Cluskey revealed that Maitua, who has starred in the NRL in the past with Canterbury Bulldogs, will need to take an English language test before he can arrive in the country.

And Verlinden will need to complete another document before his arrival can be rubber stamped, after it was revealed he is hoping to qualify for citizenship.

Cluskey told the YEP: “We’re waiting for one more document and once that comes through it’ll be a matter of days.”
