Duo of Challenge Cup ties switched

It has been confirmed by the RFL that Leigh Miners Rangers have been denied permission to host their Ladbrokes Challenge Cup match against Oxford at their traditional home ground, Twist Lane.

The tie, which will now be played this Saturday at Leigh Centurions’ Leigh Sports Village ground, has been moved after it was deemed that Twist Lane did not meet “minimum Facilities Standards across a number of criteria”, meaning a switch to the LSV.

It is not the only tie to be switched, though. Featherstone’s clash against York City Knights has also been moved, with the game now taking place at Featherstone’s Big Fellas Stadium this Friday, with an 8pm kick-off.

The RFL also said that the tie was moved in order to “meet Facilities Standards”.
