Newcastle Knights winger Ben Mantellato admits he is open to the possibility of moving to Super League, as reported interest from Hull FC intensifies on both sides of the world.
Lee Radford’s men are believed to be interested in the services of Mantellato – who is the leading points scorer in New South Wales Cup, with 168 points to his name. A prolific try-scoring and goal-kicking winger, Mantellato believes it would be a great opportunity to move to Super League.
‘‘If I did have the opportunity to go overseas, I would probably take it,’’ Mantellato told the Newcastle Herald.
‘‘I’ve only heard a bit of chat about it. My manager is looking after me in that regard.
‘‘I do realise there’s heaps of young kids and real quality young footballers coming through and I’ve got no chance of holding them back, so I’ll have to look elsewhere. If it all comes through, it would be a really good opportunity.’’
