Oldham’s recruitment for 2017 has been handed a huge boost with the re-signing of former centre George Tyson.
Tyson was an instrumental figure in Oldham’s promotion to the Championship in 2015 but departed the club to go full-time with Sheffield Eagles.
However, the 23-year-old has now returned to his old stomping ground, just one year after signing a three-year contract with the Eagles.
“I enjoyed my time at Sheffield,” said Tyson.
“But due to the club’s unfortunate circumstances, a return to Oldham was the right move.
“There are a lot of familiar faces here, including Scott, ‘Spanner’ (Lee Spencer) and Pete Carey.
“I’ve a load of friends at Oldham and I’m getting a job outside of rugby so everything is working out fine.
“I’m looking forward to putting the Oldham shirt on again.”
