Rams to announce signings on Wednesday

Dewsbury Rams head coach Glenn Morrison has revealed that the club will announce a number of signings at a fans forum on Wednesday.

The Rams’ season came to an end on Sunday as they were defeated in the Championship Shield semi-final by London 34-18.

It was a disappointing end to the season for the Championship Club of the Year, however Morrison revealed that he is buoyed by the club’s recruitment drive.

“We’ve had a lot of clubs come in for a lot of our players offering a lot more money,” Morrison told BBC Radio Leeds.

Paul Sykes is a rumoured target for Dewsbury ahead of next season.

“But the players want to stay here and that is a good sign. They enjoy the club and the culture we’ve developed here. On Wednesday night we’ll be able to announce a few more (that are staying) and a few coming in from outside so we’re looking good for next season.”

League Express revealed this month that Featherstone Rovers half-back Paul Sykes is a target of the Rams as they look to replace Anthony Thackeray, who announced on Twitter yesterday that he is leaving the club.
