Rowley: Rhinos praise “means a lot”

Leigh Centurions coach Paul Rowley has spoken of his delight at the praise his team received for their performance against Leeds Rhinos in the Challenge Cup last week.

The Championship outfit went toe-to-toe with the Super League giants and came close to progressing into the semi-finals. In the past few days, several Rhinos stars have praised the Centurions, including former England captain Jamie Peacock.

“When people of the calibre of Jamie Peacock, Brian McDermott and Kevin Sinfield speak highly of you, you can’t help but feel the club is moving in the right direction,” Rowley told the Leigh Reporter.

“I have played alongside Jamie and Kevin and I respect them enormously. So to hear some of the things they said after the game really means a lot.

“People have been complimentary of me and my team but also of the club in general.”
