Salford allow Mateo to return home for family reasons

Salford Red Devils have confirmed that recent signing Feliti Mateo has been released from the remainder of his contract to return to Australia for family reasons.

Mateo, who only joined the Devils at the beginning of the Super 8 Qualifiers along with fellow Manly forward Luke Burgess, made three appearances in his short spell.

The club said in a short statement that they “would like to wish Feliti well and thank him for his efforts”.

The Red Devils have just one win and two points from their opening four Qualifiers games: with their next clash against Championship side Featherstone Rovers this coming Sunday.
