Adam Swift scored four tries as St Helens registered a crucial victory over Catalans.
A 39-16 victory over faltering Catalans moved them four points ahead of the Dragons in fourth spot, putting them in pole position to reach the play-offs at the end of the season.
Swift scored a hat-trick in the first-half, putting his side 16-12 in the lead at half-time after Dave Taylor and Jason Baitieri scored for Laurent Frayssinous’ side.
But the second half was dominated by St Helens. Swift grabbed his fourth while Jack Owens and Joe Greenwood also scored. Catalans’ only response came through Vincent Duport, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation.
