Leeds close in on safety after KR victory

Leeds Rhinos saw off a valiant Hull KR display to defeat Rovers 22-18.

Two tries from hooker James Segeyaro helped secure a second Qualifiers victory for the Rhinos, who are top of the mini-league with the six other teams still to play their second game.

Kallum Watkins’ ninth try in six games helped give Leeds an 8-0 half-time lead, with Liam Sutcliffe adding a penalty.

However, James Webster’s side responded as James Greenwood scored, with Josh Mantellato’s and subsequent penalty bringing the game level.

It was down to Segeyaro to win it, as his two tries either side of James Donaldson’s 73rd minute score gave Leeds a strong lead, even though George Lawler scored in the last minute.
