Shaun Lunt signs permanent contract with Hull KR

Hull KR hooker Shaun Lunt has committed his long-term future to the club after signing a four-year deal with the Robins.

Lunt joined the Robins on loan from Huddersfield earlier this season, but he will now join on a permanent basis from the start of next season.

The deal has been announced just 48 hours out from the Challenge Cup final, where Lunt will be aiming to lift the trophy for the first time after losing two previous Wembley finals with the Giants and Leeds.

“I’ve had a great time since joining the club earlier this season and I’m delighted to sign a new long-term contract,” he said.

“The fans have been fantastic with me ever since I came and I can’t thank them enough for that. They’re cracker but they’ve really made me feel welcome, as have the players and the coaching staff.

“I’m really pleased to get my future secured at such a great club and I feel like I’m starting to get back to my best form here at Hull KR. I know there is plenty more to come from me but I’m really enjoying my rugby again and that made staying here for another four years an easy decision to make.”
