SOCIAL: Do these stats prove Luke Gale is England’s best half-back?

There’s plenty of talk surrounding which way Wayne Bennett should go for England in a number of positions, with his rumoured interest in picking a number of non-English, NRL-based players attracting criticism aplenty.

But do these statistics – revealed by a Castleford Tigers fan account on Twitter – suggest that Tigers captain Luke Gale should be at the front of the queue for one of the half-back berths?

Gale has again impressed this year, and with many considering him unlucky not to play last season, his form in 2016 has again suggested he is ready for the step up to international level.

And when it comes to try assists in Super League and beyond this year, Gale is way out in front. Take a look:
