Despite rumours to the contrary BARLA Yorkshire County will be running an Under 17’s team, to take part in this year’s BARLA Tri Series. The Series begins on Sunday 2nd October when the ‘White Rose’ county will entertain Cumbria in Game One, at a venue yet to be announced.
The County is now calling all coaches of clubs in Yorkshire, to nominate players who will be aged under seventeen on the 1st September this year, to take part in trials for selection to the proposed squad.
The first trial will take place on Wednesday 24th September at 7.00pm, at Ossett RLFC. Nominated players will be required to bring their training kit and boots on the night.
The side is to be coached by Richard Milner and Fred Francis and the physio will be Stuart Garlic. The County hopes that all clubs, their coaches and respective playing leagues will buy into this and support the side.
Club coaches are asked to email their nominations to the temporary BARLA Yorkshire County Secretary, Susan Williams, at firstname.lastname@example.org Should anyone require further information Susan can be contacted on 07415 653984.
