St Helens to move for Travis Burns?

St Helens are believed to be launching an ambitious bid to bring Hull Kingston Rovers stand-off Travis Burns to Langtree Park – as they continue to reel from the impact of Luke Walsh’s long-term injury.

Burns – who is still under contract with the Robins – is believed to be attracting the interest of the Saints with the business end of the season approaching, reports the St Helens Star.

With Walsh out until the beginning of next year, a move for Burns would be a welcome addition for Saints’ half-back plans moving forward, both short and long-term at the club. However, it does not mean the end of the road at Saints for Lance Hohaia – as he could move into a utility role for the club next season.

A move for Burns would certainly rank as one of the more high-profile transfers in recent years – with the Hull KR half enjoying a sterling season in East Hull in 2014. He is currently top of the Albert Goldthorpe Medal table in League Express with just four rounds of the season left.
