WINNERS – Hull FC
Lee Radford’s side picked up a momentum-building victory over Wakefield, ending their Challenge Cup hangover as a result. However, the week got so much better a day later, when Wigan did them a favour by beating Warrington.
It means that, for a second consecutive year, the League Leaders’ Shield will be decided on the final day of the season in a mouthwatering clash between the Wolves and FC.
LOSERS – Salford
Just what has gone wrong at Salford? A shock defeat to London not only means they cannot secure automatic safety, but they are now also threatened with automatic relegation to the Championship.
Should they lose to Batley this week, and London defeat Featherstone, they’re down – and Batley is not the place you want to be going in those circumstances.
WINNERS – Rochdale
They had been written off since the moment they secured their place in the Promotion Play-Off.
Going up against Toulouse in their own backyard, a team unbeaten in the league all year, the Hornets didn’t seem to have a chance.
However, they defied the odds to defeat them 24-22, and book a place in the Championship next year.
LOSERS – Sheffield Eagles
It’s been a torrid few months for the Eagles, who have been battling off-field issues all year.
However, on the field it hasn’t been so bad, with a string of victories earning them third place in the Championship Shield.
That was all put to bed on Sunday however, as they were annihilated by Bradford 80 (EIGHTY) points to nil.
WINNERS – London Broncos
Given Leigh’s efforts in earning promotion, London have very much gone under the radar in the Qualifiers.
They are now one win and a bit of luck from the Million Pound game after their shock win over Salford.
Andrew Henderson’s side have earned plenty of admirers for their expansive style of play, and it could yet be seen in Super League next season.
LOSERS – Toulouse
Unbeaten all year, champions at a canter and promotion certainties. What could go wrong?
When it mattered most, Toulouse fluffed their lines and missed out on promotion. They get another attempt through the play-offs, but they’ve made it hard for themselves.
