Super League player suspended for cup tie

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats forward Matt Ryan will miss this weekend’s Challenge Cup tie against Leigh Centurions after being suspended by the RFL’s disciplinary panel.

Ryan has been ruled out of the date against the Centurions after using his Early Guilty Plea on a Grade B charge relating to a high tackle on Hull KR’s Ben Cockayne last Thursday.

Ryan was the only Super League player to cop a ban from the latest round of Super League fixtures, after Salford’s Adrian Morley escaped a ban.

He used his EGP to plead guilty to a Grade A headbutt charge on Huddersfield’s Kruise Leeming.
