Taumalolo next to head to NFL?

Jarryd Hayne’s switch from the NRL to NFL has been well-documented over the past 12 months – and is another top star from Australian Rugby League set to follow?

North Queensland forward Jason Taumalolo, who will likely appear in next month’s World Club Challenge against Leeds, has revealed that he’d love to go and try out American Football in the future.

Hayne made the move to San Francisco 49ers last year, and a number of big players from the NRL have been tipped to follow in his footsteps.

Australian NFL trailblazer Colin Scotts named a number of players last year including Greg Inglis, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and the Burgess twins in a list of NRL players on the radar of NFL scouts.

And Taumalolo insists he could be heading over at the end of this season to chance his arm.

“Maybe in the off-season we will see what happens there,” Taumalolo told foxsports.com.au.

“A few boys last off-season went and had trials so it will be interesting to see what happens next off-season.

“I guess it’s a long-term thing, Cowboys are my main priority.”
