Samoa boss Matt Parish believes England’s Sam Tomkins is among the world’s best fullbacks – and compared him to the likes of Billy Slater, Greg Inglis and Jarryd Hayne.
Tomkins had a solid game against Samoa, making 15 tackles, 12 carries and looking, for the most part, a safe pair of hands at the back.
When asked who England’s best player was, Parish said: “Without a doubt Sam Tomkins, he is world class.
“In my opinion he is in the same class as Slater, Inglis, Hayne and all of them.”
Parish also praised some of England’s front-rowers.
“James Graham, if he isn’t the game’s best prop he’s the second one. The two Burgess boys go enormous,” he said.
