It’s official, Chris Sandow has quit Warrington Wolves.
The 27-year-old shocked everyone by quitting the Super League club on Monday, allegedly texting his agent to say he wouldn’t be coming back to the UK.
Needless to say, Rugby League tweeters were all quick to react to the shocking news, with Warrington fans particularly unimpressed with their former hero.
Great way to treat the Club and Fans @Sandow_7 we showed you nothing but loyalty and respect and this is how you repay us #notawire

Even professional athletes were getting involved. 2004 Olympian Joel Brunker said the NRL should block Sandow from returning following his treatment of the club.
So this Chris Sandow bloke just walks out on his club without a word. I hope the NRL block him from coming back. #unprofessional

Other fans were a bit more sympathetic, including Wolves fan Terry.
@Sandow_7 won’t pretend to be gutted Chris – thought we were #goingtohaveaparty?? all year! Good luck for the future ??

Around an hour after the news was confirmed, TotalRL had the exclusive reaction from Warrington’s head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith, who described Sandow as a “pain in the proverbial”. It didn’t go unnoticed…
“He was a pain in the proverbial” is now my sentence for the week! I’m going to drop it into every conversation I can ?? #rl #Sandow #wire

@rlworld brilliant words from Smith and not one player is more important than the club.

@leagueexpress @RLonRY Class response from Tony Smith.

Tony smith has just basically sat there and gone ‘sandow who I don’t care for him’ ??? that guy ???

TS almost seems glad to be rid, labelling Sandow as ‘unreliable’. If Tony Smith is okay with the departure then I’m alright with it #ISWT
