Expect the next 24 hours or so to be very busy when it comes to transfers in rugby league: and at least one Super League club is still on the hunt for new players.
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have strengthened their squad of late with the signing of David Fifita from the NRL, but they are now understood to be in talks with another player ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
Chris Chester told reporters at Thursday’s pre-match press conference that the club are on the verge of signing a new player on loan – with TotalRL understanding a forward from a fellow Super League rival is on the radar of the Wildcats.
The signing would also be cup-tied for next weekend’s Challenge Cup semi-final against Warrington Wolves.
UPDATE (Friday): Wakefield will be announcing a new signing later today – but it will NOT be Jordan Cox. The towering forward had been linked elsewhere with a reunion with Chris Chester, but that is not happening.
