How Wakefield could line up if they hadn’t sold their stars

Tom Johnstone has been the talk of Super League following his exceptional form recently, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed by fans and rival clubs alike.

Since scoring a sensational try against Huddersfield on Good Friday, the Wildcats winger has been linked to a number of clubs, none more so than Wigan since they announced the departure of Josh Charnley to rugby union and Dan Sarginson to Gold Coast.

Over the years, Wakefield have traditionally lost their better stars due to their inability to compete with the powerhouses of the competition, so the thought of losing their new prize asset is obviously one that strikes fear into Trinity supporters.

To emphasise Wakefield’s selling mentality of old, here is a team of players that have left the Wildcats to move on to other clubs in recent years.
