Shaun Wane refused to speculate on the absence of John Bateman following Wigan’s 23-20 victory over Salford.
There has been speculation all week following an incident last weekend in Wigan, which has forced the club to launch an internal investigation.
The club is refusing to comment further until the investigation reaches a conclusion, however Bateman’s exclusion has only furthered the interest surrounding the alleged incident.
Wane said: “He wasn’t available for selection. He wasn’t available, just like Anthony Gelling, so that was my team. It’s on-going, it’s a day to day thing, I’m just coaching my team and making sure we get to Hull KR in a good manner.”
A full report will be in Monday’s League Express.
