Ward keen for London to stay grounded after Saints win

London Broncos Head Coach Danny Ward is keen for his troops to stay grounded despite their incredible golden-point win over St Helens yesterday.

Morgan Smith’s field goal was the difference on the day but the club are still bottom of the table and in danger of relegation and Ward is well aware of that.

“It’s only one win and we’re still bottom of the league. That’s what it is,” said Ward.

“We’ve got to build on it, we can’t get too excited. It’s great for the fans, everyone is buzzing around the club but we’ve got to keep our feet firmly on the ground.

Having said that, Ward was delighted with his side’s performance.

“I’m proud of everyone’s effort today,” he continued.

“Our middles were fantastic, especially in defence. We’ve worked a lot in the last couple of weeks on our defending and some attack as well. The halves were a lot better today.

“One to 17, everyone just went out and competed. It was certainly the best win of the season and one to build on going forward.
