The month of May arrived today. That may not seem so significant, but it is, in fact, a pivotal day in the Rugby League calendar.
Why? Because as of now, all players out of contract at the end of the season are free to speak to other clubs, and likewise, clubs can now start to offer contracts to other players.
It’s true when they say that recruitment is an ever ongoing process, but expect transfer stories to go through the roof now discussions become formal.
For all clubs up and down the country, it’s an exciting and stressful time as they attempt to sign new players but retain those that have yet to sign new deals.
