Wood returns to full training at Giants

Huddersfield Giants playmaker Kyle Wood is back in training, the club has confirmed.

The 26-year-old has been out of action since July after breaking his foot against Catalans. However he is now back in the fold at the Giants after his rehabilitation successfully concluded.

“Woody has trained fully with us for the first time since July and we’re obviously really pleased about that,” said head coach Paul Anderson.

“The key now is not to push him too hard and bring him back into action too soon. He still needs to get a few weeks under his belt and he has just got to get a block of training together.

“There is no point rushing him back, especially with the injuries he has had over the past 12 months to his knee (towards the end of the 2014 season) and then his foot, so we want to make sure that when he does come back this time, he stays back.”

Anderson revealed that he is hopeful Wood will be available to feature in Huddersfield’s first pre-season fixture against Championship side Halifax on January 10th.
