Huddersfield Giants forward Brett Ferres has been handed a five-match ban for the tackle that saw him sent off against St Helens on Sunday.
Ferres had been cited for a Grade E dangerous throw after his tackle on Saints’ Jonny Lomax – for which Phil Bentham issued him with a straight red card. And the RFL disciplinary panel have acted sternly, hitting him with a five-match suspension. The grading of the offence meant that he could have received between four and eight games.
