Bulls sign Kavanagh following Widnes release

Bradford Bulls are have secured the signing of Ben Kavanagh followed his release from Widnes.

Kavanagh was at the Vikings last year but spent time on loan at Wakefield. He has now been deemed surplus to requirements at Widnes ahead of next season.

The Scotland international can play across the pack, giving Jimmy Lowes plenty of options ahead of next season.

“Ben is a big, agile dynamic runner of the ball and has a real physical presence in defence,” said Bradford Bulls managing director, Steve Ferres.

“He has teamed up with our Scottish internationals and will be pushing for a place in their Four Nations team come the back of 2016.

“Ben has loads of first grade experience, which will be valuable when experience will be called upon.

“We were able to secure his services despite having to fight off interest from other Super League clubs.

“He choose us over those clubs. He likes what we are doing here and he believes with us he will be able achieve his true potential.”
