Purtell named new Bradford captain

Bradford Bulls have confirmed Adrian Purtell as their new captain for 2016.

Purtell takes over the role from Chev Walker, after last season’s captain became part of James Lowes’ backroom staff.

The Australian has been with the club since 2012 and scored 16 tries last year.

“It is an honour to be named captain for the 2016 season,” said Purtell.

“I look forward to leading the lads throughout the year and hopefully getting us back into the Super League.

“I stepped in a few times last season when Chev Walker was injured and did my best. Now, I’m aiming to develop and go one step further.”
