Castleford Tigers receive mixed injury news

Castleford Tigers head coach Daryl Powell has revealed that two of his big forwards will miss the rest of the season due to injury – although they are on the verge of welcoming back some other stars from injury.

Props Ryan Boyle and Daniel Fleming are to miss the remainder of the campaign due to injury, with the two unable to recover from serious injuries in time to play a part for the rest of 2014.

However, Powell did reveal that both Luke Dorn and Adam Milner will come into contention for this weekend’s clash against Widnes Vikings, and that forward Nathan Massey is also nearing a recovery, and could return within the next two weeks.

When asked of the state of his squad, Powell said: “We’re not too bad. We didn’t pick up anything extra from the Wakefield game at the weekend, which is quite fortunate. Luke Dorn is likely to be available this weekend, and obviously Adam Milner will come into contention, too.
“We’ve just got three big men who are out; Boyle, Massey and Fleming. I’d expect that Boyle and Fleming are both going to miss the rest of the season, but Massey is around two weeks away from returning to fitness.”
