Luke Dorn ruled out for up to a month with injury

Castleford Tigers have been dealt a huge blow ahead of the busy Easter schedule, as full-back Luke Dorn could miss a month of action due to injury.

Dorn – a TotalRL.com columnist – sustained the injury during Cas’ heartbreaking late loss to St Helens on Friday, and Powell confirmed the injury on Wednesday. However, he did admit that his squad depth should get them through the period without Dorn.

“Luke won’t play over Easter at all. He’s looking at a three or four week with injury; it was a hamstring knock that he picked up against St Helens,” he said.

“He’s been playing some outstanding Rugby League so he’ll be a big miss for us. But you have squad depth for a reason, so I’m confident we can manage it pretty well.

“There are lads like Jordan Tansey, Richard Owen and James Clare who can step in, so we should be able to manage without Luke.”
