Featherstone confirm Mariano signing

Featherstone Rovers have confirmed the signing of Frankie Mariano.

Mariano, formerly of Wakefield and Castleford, joins the club after playing for Scotland in their successful Four Nations campaign.

The 29-year-old was released by the Tigers after a difficult two-year spell with injuries, but with his troubles behind him, Rovers have swooped to sign the back-rower amid heavy competition.

Speaking at the club’s fans forum last night, Mariano claimed that he had turned down an offer from Catalans to join the club.

Despite adding Mariano to their ranks, it is understood that head coach Jon Sharp is still on the lookout for new recruits.
