  1. I get that, but it was 2.5 years ago, Salford have moved on and are in a good place, Salford fans should forget Watson and get behind their own team. As I said, I have absolutely no beef with Salford or their fans, I actually wish them well apart from when they play us but the whole anger over Watson can't be good.
  2. I would say in an amusing way rather than an anger that he chose to leave us. I know I mock him and his reason for leaving the Giants as do many others but I'm not angry or upset about it like some Salford fans seem to be.
  3. It's just yet another stick or excuse to bash Huddersfield, they can't lay into us because of our league position, they've got bored of slagging off our empty stadium and loyal supporters. Now it's our owner, his money, our coach and players, Yadda Yadda yap yap... I don't mind Salford and their many decent fans but they have a weird, unhealthy obsession with Ian Watson and their ex players' careers. I'm sure something else will come up soon in order to keep the Huddersfield bashing going.
  4. So because Huddersfield's owner is rich that means it can't be considered an achievement for us to go from 9th to 3rd and to a cup final and potential grand final too. But Salford and Wakefield can be given that luxury because they don't have a rich fan as owner? Yet, Huddersfield are often quoted as being not worthy of a place, often told we "bring nothing" to the sport, told we should be kicked out of the league because our stadium is too big etc etc. Ken Davy doesn't provide a bottomless pot of cash for splashing out on players, Richard Thewlis has a budget and coaches have to work within that budget, Ken's money goes on everyday running costs like paying the staff and stadium costs not on the team. We are where we are due to hard work, good coaching, some shrewd, hard working signings and some absolutely class homegrown players who a lot of other clubs would love to have. This whole thing about Huddersfield splashing money around is nonsense, absolute tosh. Watson has spent no more than Woolf, Peer, Rowley or even Poching!
  5. 2 sides of it have, the other bits are exactly the same as I first saw on scrumdown in 1989, but yes, it's a good ground.
  6. And? Maybe Saints didn't rate him enough or make him feel important to pay him what he thought he was worth? He's a bigger fish at Huddersfield and can demand more ,it's all relative.
  7. A few thousand people in the stands saw it, the officials saw it, but some people on social media cry about it so that's the narrative. Miller clearly pulls McQueen's leg.
  8. How? Are you referring to the penalty given when Jacob Miller pulled his leg as he was getting up when he realised he wasn't square and his defensive line wasn't set? No cheating there, McQueen wanted to get on with it as we were stacked on our left, with a dogleg defensive line, no reason for him to milk anything in that situation.
  9. You can't buy players in RL like you can in football, so that's that argument down. Watson has done a good job in identifying the areas within the team that needed strengthening and strengthened. He identified the bad apples and lazy gits and shipped them out. He's changed the entire culture of the club, and instilled a desire, a will to win and a togetherness, with people he knows and trusts, the same as he did at Salford, he's also overseen yet another bunch of talented academy players. So, not sure how he's spent big? Maybe you and others can enlighten Huddersfield fans?
  10. Maybe the thought their careers would be better off under Ian Watson at Huddersfield? As for poaching, aren't players allowed to legally sign for other clubs?
  11. Huddersfield were also tipped to struggle, so not sure I agree with that. We have exceeded our own wildest dreams this season so not sure why Salford get a free hit and Huddersfield don't. Both sides have proved everyone wrong, both sides are where they deserve to be on merit, Salford are the form team and beat us a few weeks ago so not sure why there is absolutely no pressure on Salford? As for Davy's massive investment in the team? Go on...
  12. He's a star, still going strong at 34, Lance Todd trophy winner, a recipient of 2 awards at the Giants awards evening. Top scoring forward in the league and a pretty decent player. How about you?
  13. Ken stated it was around £7 per seat, that's what it costs to open the stadium. It costs something like £25k a week just to maintain and despite it being seen by some as a new stadium, Ken also said it's a financial cesspit, it's already showing its age, remember it was built in 1994 and is already outdated and would need £10m just to upgrade it. Oh how I wish we had our own little place where our no fans could gather that was just ours!
  14. I always find this really strange that fans will sit through all the games during the season but won't pay £16 for a ticket for the game (s) that actually matter. It's just weird!
  15. I can't believe people are suggesting Murphy should be in the England world cup squad, 6 months after making his first team debut for a side that's struggled most of the season. The lad has some great potential, like many others in the game but ready for a world cup, already? What is the obsession RL fans have with wanting to fast track good young players with potential into the national side after a few good games? Remember Kevin Penny??
  16. I'd have Smith in anyway we he's deserved it through his performances on the field, not just on hype.
  17. I'll post the away figures for Huddersfield later and it may come as a surprise to many who think they outnumber the home fans.
  18. I feel a bit for Hull fans and the coaches is employs. From an outsider it seems that there is an underlying fundamental issue with the club, be it the owners, the players etc there just seems to be a really bad ethic there that seems the club continuously have these issues.
