  1. Quote me then. You don't get promoted by winning the comp. I'm on record as saying I don't think we'll have it all our own way, we won't win every game and that I'm not taking it for granted we will win either the league and/or the 1895. I DO believe we will finish high enough in the scores to be back in SL next year. It'll be a cracking comp and I'm really looking forward to it.
  2. Do Toulouse enter the 1895 Cup? Without it, it's highly likely one of their immediate rivals will outstrip them on performance points.
  3. You say fawning, whilst everyone else just sees someone being positive. I'd see any of those in SL above the sham club that is Huddersfield Giants. You've been in SL for years, with a well funded team, and still can't get anywhere near 6K. Thankfully IMG will put a stop to your inflated phantom crowds next year.
  4. Go on then ######, name and shame any Wakey fan you can who has said - - we can buy better players than you, - we will romp the league, - you're all inferior to us. I'm not even convinced we will win the comp, but I am confident that we will develop the business to the point that we are comfortably in the next 12 for SL, on IMG scoring. I certainly don't see us going unbeaten.
  5. That's not all correct. The "losses" were due to the club spending money outside of that funded via Yorkcourt, including a new roof on the Rollin building and new floodlights. As you say, that is reflected in the improved net balance and assets sheet. What you wilfully choose to ignore is that for a decade, Carter didn't spend a penny the club couldn't afford. At no point in that time, and certainly not this year, were the club anywhere near running out of cash, or at risk of going under. It did look like a club "standing still" though. Undoubtedly Ellis is a game changer for real progress. Salford kept spending their rent money on players and now that's come back to bite them. It was inevitable.
  6. If they don't turn this around, there will be nothing there to grade!
  7. I think there's very little about Salford that any other club will be looking to copy, to be honest. They'll do well to make the start of next season.
  8. I'm sure all those who insisted that the "fan ownership" wasn't just a desperate short-term money grab, will have a perfectly good explanation for this. All the RFLs fault, no doubt.
  9. They are trying to buy themselves time.
  10. Imagine the embarrassment of only staying in SL due to them expanding the league. I'd also hazard a guess that at least one other Championship club will score better than Cas next year. Looking forward to it immensely!
  11. Imagine how embarrassed Cas will be, not finishing last in SL, but getting relegated anyway. Looking forward to it immensely!
  12. This. I do think it would help with credibility to give the actual sales, though of course, only actual attendees will count next year, so all will become clear one way or the other.
  13. Joe Arundel. Who the chuff was Joe A-runn-dl? It's Arrund'l.
  14. So why did you have a dig with the Calder comment? You invited the Sheffield comment with your jibe.
  15. Yes, we know we won't have it all our own way, but it will be lovely. It's easy being a fan of a "successful" club. Those who have stuck with Wakey through thick and thin are true fans.
  16. I expect that the kids ones are included, but most of the tickets sold are at at least the £150 value (East Stand). I think the strategy is one of building a really solid fan base, ready for the hoped for return to SL next year. If the kids turn up, to a nice stadium (stand at least), and watch a (mostly), winning team, next year becomes a little easier to sell.
  17. Wakey looking good on the fandom/utilisation/finances front - they have sold over 2250 season tickets in 24 hours! The positivity and excitement is refreshing to say the least.
  18. A club will have good years and bad years. An average is to measure trend, stability and sustainability. The boundaries may well change, as Griff eludes to, but what alternative measure would you suggest?
  19. When do you play your Don Valley Derby with your partner club Sheffield? Thought not.
  20. They could have saved even more time by looking at the developers letter on the planning portal, where they admit that they can't actually afford to build the plans that are already in, due to the costs of making the EAs required changes. Fully costed, fully schmosted.
  21. Yes, not far. Many fans walk from the city centre. It's one of Fev's charms that PO Road is right "there", in the heart of the community.
  22. I don't know what the new capacity will be, but they may choose to redevelop the West (different to artificially "closing" an area of the ground). We won't be troubling the 7500 that end of the scoring spectrum whilst in the Championship.
