  1. I thought I'd put a couple of pics up. The Popular Side at 13:45 My view from the commentary box After the game as I head towards the Marquee to meet the players
  2. He was saying it slow so the hacks in front of me could get every word he said
  3. That's where I always sit mate, you should have come and said hello if I wasn't commentating a few other forum members off RL Fans came over to talk to me at half-time/full-time.
  4. Addy, Platt, and Kopczak (who IMO should be rewarded with a contract extension after the last few games, he's really upped his work effort) made some good yards for us today along with the usual gut busting efforts from Lynch, Langley and Scruton. Kearney's kick behind the Wakefield line for Whitehead to touch-down was sublime with pin-point accuracy. It was great to see the move unfold in front of me before it did. I thought Godwin took his tries well, especially his second just on the hooter, showing a nice little scoop from dummy half to crash over the line taking three Wakefield players with him. But the best try of the game for mine was the Addy break and the outside pass to Menzies to score our/his last try at Odsal this season. It couldn't have been scripted better could it. If Worrincy could play all next season like he did today then I would extend his contract by a year, because I thought he really stood up today to the terrace abusive chanters. He made a number of key crucial tackles early on and very nearly went over in the second half for his third try of the season (well did go over the line, he just couldn't get the ball down). I thought Sam Obst was Wakefield's best player who caused us no end of trouble close to the line with that dinky run of his and astute kicking game. Jeffries and Morrison also had fair games, putting some good runs and passes together. Yes it was scrappy at times with a period in both halfs when Wakefield would knock-on and then just seconds later from the scrum/play the ball, we would do likeiwse and vice versa, so come full time it was just so relieving to stop the bus at 12 and leave the ground with a win. I had a gander at the Marquee once I had packed everything away, and saw Peter Hood and the players all integrating with the supporters which was great to see. It really does feel as if the board are going full tilt at turning this ship around by maing her head in the right direction to a top four finish in 2011. COME ON YOU BULLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I'm still at Odsal in the Marquee drinking at happy hour prices and all the talk is about my commentary today which is making me rather emotional. What's made today really great is after the game I met the visually impaired and disabled supporters who had taken in my commentary who all had encouraging words of praise. One of these supporters was blind and he said that because of my commentary he would defiantly be renewing his season pass next season. Because now that there is my commentary he said his daughter doesn't have to spend all game constantly telling him where the ball and action is. Unbeknown to me Peter Hood and Ryan Ducket spent five minutes listening in and said that it was fantastic and well worth the
  6. I want to know if I'll ever commentate on a Bulls win?
  7. Had to be abandoned after a serious life threatening injury to Frankie Mariano (23) who couldn't leave the field of play. It's times like these where the world of Rugby League comes together and I really hope that Frankie Mariano is ok and makes a full recovery. It was a game that new Bradford signing Chev Walker, made his comeback in after a 11 month lay-off from a broken leg injury sustained in last seasons play-off game between Leeds and Hull Kingston Rovers at Haedingley.
  8. Remaining fixtures: 8th Crusaders RL: St Helens (H), Hull KR (H). 22 points --------------------------------The----------------Play-Off----------------Line-------------------------------- 9th Castleford: Leeds (H), Harlequins (H), St Helens (A). 20 points 10th Wakefield: Bradford (A), Salford (A). 18 points 11th Bradford: Wakefield (H), Wigan (A). 17 points
  9. The BBC tribute to Eddie Waring is on BBC Four on Tuesday September 7th. I know that Paul has put a lot of work into this and it'll be worth one hour of your life.
  10. Sat 23rd Oct: New Zealand v England, kick-off 8:00am BBC Sun 24th Oct: Australia v Papua New Guinea, kick-off 6:00am BBC I guess that makes sense with both games being played over the same weekend.
  11. I think the Wakefield players may also be there looking at the Super League table.
  12. I remember my Grandad teling me who was at the game that the roads were gridlocked from Bradford to Rochdale for this game. Amazing really when you think about it.
  13. Just finished watching this and I must say both sides deserve some praise for giving us an entertaining game in the awful playing conditions.
  14. The former Great Britain manager, Hull Kingston Rovers, Hull FC and Widnes player is to join a long list of Rugby League greats at the George Hotel in Huddersfield on Sunday. Great news for a man respected throughout the sport of Rugby League. Although don't remind the Hull FC supporters of that missed kick at goal that lost them the 1958 Championship title. Sorry Rob
  15. I'm sorry Lobby but Leigh playing Blackpool away in the Northern Rail Cup isn't going to get you in Super League.
  16. The point you make about contribution to the competition is actually judged over a five year time span. So in 2012 we will have: 2007: Play-Offs and Challenge Cup Semi-Final 2008: Play-Offs and Challenge Cup Quarter-Final 2009: 9th place finish and Challenge Cup 4th Round 2010: ?? place finish and Challenge Cup Quarter-Final 2011: That to the RFL will get us a point for contribution to the competition.
  17. Wendall if it helps you to mentally prepare for you journey a week on Saturday here is what you'll be going on. Deltic power Only the finest coaches for the Warrington supporters
  18. For the Challenge Cup Final in 2003 we got the RFL special down from Leeds which was spilt about 80/20 in Leeds favour (cue plenty of good natured banter). All I'll say is coming back after the game, the train was drunken fun which was further enhanced when someone in the toilet pushed the emergency stop button thinking it was to flush the toilet, menaing we were a bit late arriving back into Leeds.
  19. What a load of old tosh, since when has Angela Powers been the person who decides to throw out of Super League. Face it, we are here to stay.
  20. Nothing wrong with Odsal, it has more covered seating then Castleford and Wakefield put together. Odsal main stand Jungle main stand Now I could understand if Odsal looked like it did when my dad was following Northern but it doesn't.
