Nobody has mentioned that Super League players are full-time.  Could the Knights afford that?  Would all contracted players want to go full-time?  (Some may have lucrative jobs.)  Would a hybrid model be possible?  Wouldn't all the current contracts, of whatever length, need to be renegotiated?

I'm sure there would be a solution but a possible promotion would open a can of worms!

Did London not go with a hybrid team last time?

That is a big issue though. Would we be protected from relegation, and even if we were, there would be no fun in finishing bottom of the pile? Add to that, there may not be any central funding, and that causes more problems.

This season has seen some terrific games, another season in the Championship, while we continue to build an even stronger squad, would be my choice.

All very fair and accurate comments and I really do agree with you. But some of that would be offset by the increased income from a year of SL crowds at LNER which would give a head start against those Championship teams following on.

    It's probably all hypothetical anyway.

For me the ideal solution would be to leave SL at 12 teams next season, and move to 14 the year after. There is a possibility that whoever wins the Championship this season could well be promoted if their IMG score is better than Salford, Cas., or Huddersfield, but looking at how the Knights are developing, another season preparing for a possible promotion would be the best scenario.

My head agrees but my heart says otherwise 😄

Also, can't help but think that if one team did go up next year (with protection for relegation) and the two more following on the season after, the additional year would be a hell of an advantage going forward.

Make your mind up. For 10 years the general RL fanbase has been whinging that Bradford needs to “cut its cloth accordingly” but now that we have put in 3 years of break even or minor profit accounts (even whilst putting £180k annually into the academy) and are obviously working to a tight budget, you want us to randomly start buying players?
This is the way the championship works. We’re being careful with loans. I await the day you have >5 long term injuries in your squad to see how your principles hold at that point.

TBF to the club, we have had our fair share of long term absences - Dagger, Antrobus, Ferreira, Clark, O'Neill, and others.

But agree that I do not enjoy this 'calling out' of other clubs transfer activities when, to paraphrase, 'there but for the grace of god went us'.

Where do you expect these players to come from?. Clubs aren't going to sell at this time of year.

6 loans so far is hardly excessive and every one has covered an injury.

We don't have any players out on loan.

It's 6 loans more than we've had, and more than most other Championship clubs I would guess. You think you're ready for Super League?

Watching the social medias there seems to be players flying around all over the place so I think we are most definitely the exception and the Bulls very much the norm. I don't suppose for a second there isn't a Bulls fan who wouldn't wish for a bigger squad, and none who would think they are Super League ready with their current selection.

Yet we have been there too in very recent times, scratching around for players, on occasion unable to name a 17. So whilst I have enormous gratitude for the position Clint has put us in, I think we should keep the hubris in check.

  6. Surely we have the greatest squad depth in the division. Should really pay off as we go deeper into the fixture schedule rather than having to reach out for loans, etc.

Hats off to Clint for putting us in this position.

  7. Watch the Bulls game twice over now. Once with Andy's commentary, and once with Gledhill's, and I thought the ref got all the major stuff bang on correct including some big calls that could have easily gone against us. Thought Mick was pretty fair in his commentary as well.

@andyacko Do you know if York plan on putting the full game on Youtube? I know Bradford put full games on their channel, but I'd much rather listen to your dulcet tones than the ramblings of Mad Mick.......

Astute pausing and syncing via the BBC Sounds app - Five Pounds! (if you know you know) - will provide you with the superior commentary. Have to agree with Andy, though, that Gledhill is always worth listening to for comedy value😄

Thanks TK. Which ones? I'm not a regular user of Social Media and I know I'm not the only one. I've looked on Facebook and Instagram, my emails and the Club website. I've seen nothing on there but obviously I'm not looking in the right place. Time and place would help.

Kings Snaith at half 4 i believe.

It looked more like 250 from York, not 2.5k. Who put that figure about in the week? Regarding the game, a very tight affair, why we didn't take the DG opportunity at the end of the game only the players know. Anyway, we'll done to York, enjoy the win.

It's straightforward for web tracking software to count exactly how many tickets were bought via linking from the link on the club website, yet it's still impossible for you to believe and the main thing you need to focus on. Strange logic and strange priorities 🤔

A question for those watching the 1895 final at home. Two good defensive performances, two poor attacking performances or a mix of both?

Conditions were horrendous. I don't think you would level the same charge at Warrington and KR who only mustered a try apiece.

Ultimately it was two great defensive performances in a game decided in the cruelest of fashions.

The extremely low turnout from both sets of supporters is particularly disappointing and does little to enhance the reputation of the competition or the sport as a whole. Given the lack of visible fan engagement, it raises serious questions about the viability of either club being considered for Super League status. This is a prime example of why it is difficult to justify York being considered for a SL place when they take a minibus to Wembley for the their biggest game of the season.

You do realise York fans were offered more than just that block don't you?

Not sure I would say we were definite favourites.  No disrespect to our recent opponents but the only 'tough' game we have had in the last couple of months was Fev away, which we lost.  I do hope we aren't complacent.  Fev are battle hardened and in decent form.

    Should be a great game.

Dissing the Bulls as not tough.

    Love it! 🤣
