Technically Panthers win is the record 132-0, as regardless of how poor Gateshead were and how well Panthers played they were PROFESSIONAL opposition. This was also against same league opposition.
Taking nothing away from Huddersfield 142-4 v Blackpool Gladiators, or, Barrow 138-0 v Nottingham in the early 90;s but firstly they were playing teams that were technically amateur as both had been thrown out of the league the previous season along with Chorley and were playing in a national AMATEUR league that season. These 2 games were also part of the old Regal Trophy as the league had let 14 amateur + 2 French sides in the comp and so their scores have less creedance than Panthers.Hence why Panthers score should be the record.132-0.
Also for the record Tom Hemingway kicked 22 goals which I believe equals the great Jim Sullivans record, however, was his record not also against an amateur side, not sure.So could Hemingway hold the record on his own v professional opponents!.
