i said i would stop watching  SL  on sky if they didnt stop ruining my enjoyment of pre recorded  NRL  games from the same day/weekend - its as simple as that - gambled they wouldnt tonight but they did - peeed me off - watching the darts instead now - will avoid  SKY    SL  games from now on for that reason

Why don't you just watch the games in chronological order?  You didn't have to watch this game live.

In fact you could have watched the Broncos game now and this game later.

I'm trying to work out why you can't watch the rest of this game because you know the result of the Broncos Storm game?

I love your attention to detail in these posts and how widely these lists are assembled.

Tell me, how do you make judgements on ranking/ability - there can't be a huge amount of footage around for some of them, is is based on write ups, coaches talking them up etc or purely on some of the junior highlight reels?

    What do you think?

Irrespective of what team any one plays for, in my time in this game there I have been witness to hundreds of tackles in the manner of driving the shoulder into the legs above the knee, non have been sited and indeed in the game v Saints a few weeks ago apart from save for a number of Saints fans, John Wilkin and Liam Moore who sent player to the sin bin no one else including the MRP saw any problem he was not cautioned for anything, indeed the club requested the review with the MRP because of something I didn't know in that if a player gets 3 referrals they add up to a 1 match penalty notice, it was that that was exonerated not foul play.

Now back to the 'Elbow' I don't think you are doing anything but having a dig at me, no one seemingly excepting the MRP are of any other opinion that the said action did not warrant a penalty notice, I assume that the MRP would have viewed the elbow incident which required no further action and Cam Smith's apparent Grade B offence in their judgement which warranted a one match suspension? Since further reduced.

In your opinion should the elbow have been penalised with a suspension by the MRP, and should the leg tackle also have carried a suspension?

I will explain why I am replying on this thread to you.

As I have said on this thread, I am happy to comment on any panel decision and, of course, for others to do the same.

But if you search through the pages of this site, you will see time and again posts from you criticising the disciplinary panel and suggesting it is not fit for purpose and yet when it clears a Leigh player of foul play you start a new thread stating that the panel has completely vindicated the player.

It’s like a politician branding a newspaper fake news over and over and then quoting an article when it says something nice about them, I just find the whole hypocrisy of it laughable.

Yes with a raised elbow and running into the tackle at speed, I don't think that needs explaining, you tell us you played the sport.

You see, this is what I want to know.

Dupree has been cleared of foul play by the disciplinary and yet you say that Dupree's action has been scorned upon and been against the rules for a very very long time.

Yet, when a Leigh player is cleared of foul play, you say he has been fully vindicated.

It couldn't just be as simple as the team they play for could it?

Sorry, I don't understand, bracing for a tackle has been scorned upon and been against the rules for a very very long time?

I also believe the Byrne sending off was very harsh, and not just because it was a Wigan player - Percival’s head was at the same level as the middle of his chest, and he ran straight at him.

Can you expand a bit more on why you believe that these two are mitigating factors.

As with every season, every fan will feel aggrieved at some point due to decisions made against one of their players, nothing we can do except get on with it and accept it.

I do agree broadly with that but not sure that Smith incident is ban worthy at all. I’d have been a bit miffed if it actually had been called up as a penalty but that’s about as harsh as it deserves.

Leeds are appealing it so with our history at the appeals panel it’ll be upgraded to two games 🙂

I think it is ok to disagree with the decisions laid down by the panel, they are subjective after all (implying or stating corruption/bent is where the issue is).

Dupree deserves a ban and Smith shouldn’t even be a charge – that’s my take anyway.

  10. Probably doesn't mean a great deal in the grand scheme of things but Pryce not named in the Knights reserves this week which he has been in the first 4 rounds.

Agree with @Click about KPP - when the Knights shift right in attacking positions they always hit Frizzell as a front man and on left shifts go out the back to Best.  Sure, they see Best as an attacking weapon but mixing it up with KPP is not only good to keep the defense guessing, Pearce-Paul is actually a real threat close to the line.

  11. The Dupree one is a poor decision from the panel for me.  They say he is 'bracing for contact' but that contact was an elbow direct to the tackler and I thought it was very dangerous.

If a tackler can be found to be reckless then so can a ball carrier and raising your elbow like that and getting it wrong is just as bad as high contact in a tackle (even if intent was not there).

Seems like a different standard is set depending on whether you are carrying the ball or not - which for me is wrong.

    I agree.

The rumours that he will go back to Wakefield in 2025, if true, suggest that he must have some personal problems we don't know about.

Maybe sunshine is bad for his skin?

Why anyone would choose to move from Catalans to Wakefield in the current circumstances of club rugby league competitiveness, fan base size, home stadium quality, weather quality, and food quality, is utterly incomprehensible.

I don't really see how someone preferring to live closer to home and family as 'personal problems'.

The lifestyle in the south of France sounds very attractive but it is a different culture with a different language.  These can be quite isolating factors and I wouldn't blame anyone for placing those factors over the quality of the stadium in their decision making.

In relation to this I was speaking with a young player the other week who is looking to buy a house. The bank would only let them have a 12 year mortgage as that is the expected career. Now to get round this if you do your coaching badges you can then get a normal 25 year mortgage. Just something I’ve never considered before.

    That's really surprising... and annoying.

In this day and age, how many 20 odd year olds are expected to be in the same job in 12 years.  People continue to earn and change careers all the time.

But good the badges are seen as a career in its own right.
