On that basis that you set out, then why do all the SL clubs have a Budget figure for marketing that they stick to.

I think it's awfully simplistic to believe there is a whole sporting audience out there that have not thought about going to their local RL club.

Bradford Bulls had a slick marketing strategy, how come then they went on to lose 10,000 off their gates ?

And giving the game away once more Parky.

Cut the you you you stuff please.

We have six "A" clubs who will forever be in Superleague.

Who else do you see making "A" grades to take Superleague into being a whole league of rich clubs in quality stadiums?  All the quality players (and there is not a lot) will be signed up by the chosen six from now, the best players will already be aiming to join those clubs.

Giving the game away now Parky.

We are talking about the WC - we can't pick a player who can't even get a game in an average team - no matter what the reasons.

There are far better players in SL - those NRL tinted glasses now mean players who don't even get a game in the NRL are better than top, very good SL players.

Whatever his situation now which SL forwards have we that are better than Sutton?

Could be worse mate, they could be going to the onion. I saw that article of the Toulouse centre the other day, can`t think of his name, played junior League with Farrell and Ford ( two stars for England onion I believe) before all three were lost to the other code. Hopefully they`d have a crack at the NRL before they`d take that option now.

Shows several things in no particular order.  Lack of opportunity to develop, unsuitable learning course opportunity (college/Uni), unsuitable Club system, pay, sunshine.

I am guessing the London lad is continuing his learning with Keebra Park due to the link with Wests.

He impressed me whenever I saw him. What stood out was his aggressive defence and that he loved to bend his back and put his shoulder in (you don’t see many props do that)

Looks like Newcastle Knights are now seriously interested in Pearce-Paul and Pryce.  Also that they are looking for a 2 way agreement for their older players to find options to play in SL.  Has it come to this??

Maybe you can’t fathom it out because Barrett hasn’t got a clue what he’s doing.

Reading the aussie press, Kyle was taken out of first team action as Gould thought he needed to 're-set' himself and his game but now he is ready to play.  Then Gus drops a load of pressure on him by saying the Dogs will revolve around what Kyle does.  If its a confidence thing, which imo is a massive percentage of an RL players make up, then to say nothing wouldve been a better option!

I`ve seen too many `Dad`s army` English Rugby League teams get run off their feet by Aussie teams full off 25 - 28 year olds in their physical prime. Bringing in a 32 year old would show your selectors haven`t learnt a thing. You`ve got to go with youth.

I dont 100% agree but near enough.  The main consideration, regarding the OP, is whether he would make the squad and you have to look at potential & existing injury risk during a long tournament.  Unfortunately, for me, Joe fits into the higher level of risk.

Our pitches will be getting firmer when/if the summer arrives and a run of good form at the back end might justify reconsideration.

Edit:  To Joes credit he is 13th in metres gained from 113 carries, so he is getting plenty of work and hasnt pulled up to my knowledge.

Wondered what had happened to him. He was announced as signing pro terms with London but then disappeared and was never mentioned again. It happens so often with the club that you end up just shrugging your shoulders.

Good luck to him, yet another one off the conveyor belt that will disappear when the club finally turns up its toes.

He was down as No29 in their squad beginning of January so between then and now LB have lost an international representative at Academy level for a 3 year contract with Wests.

I think we’ll see more of this.

Jonno ford remines me of a paul cook type player never really breaks sweat but can change a game in a second cooky had one of the best rugby brains to play the game in his prime

Nor for me.   Ford isn’t and wasn’t involved enough.  Certainly a good player at Championship level though.

I don't think to be fair we should get into ranking individual clubs, that sort of misses the point, his challenge is whether the UK game should be routing money from UK broadcasters and sponsors to Canada and France.

It is a fair question. What exactly is the business case?

My personal view is that we don't fully understand the potential benefits because we have had a lack of strategy and approach to it.

But we are in a place where Catalans have had two trips to Wembley, one Grand Final, a Cup win and an LLS, a record crowd in Barca and so on - but broadcasters there are still not interested in spending a penny on it.

On the flip side, if we are going to look at positives, I'm not sure the World Cup would be in France without Catalans.

Do you think the new commercial entity that is planned will look at this?

If there’s something that could be developed or needs to be culled, it will be easy to spot for outside analysts coming in.

It's a bit tricky to make sense of that translation, but my sense is that he, ultimately, was sacked because he refused to be vaccinated. The club sound to have been willing to forgive the fake pass, but his unwillingness to get the jab soured trust.

That's the way I read it. I may be wrong.

He broke the French Law that professional sportspersons had to be double jabbed.

He messed it up for himself and his team mates.

I'd actually like to hear Beaumont actually debated on his views, rather than just accepting those answers. Would be an interesting listen perhaps.

When I’ve seen him on some TV he comes across ok.  It’s the Twitter outbursts that are usually his undoing.  Most of those are political comments though.

We could counter DB with ‘what do Leigh offer’?  I tried to get on their website to see but can’t access it.
