It would be a brave man who would bet against Leigh Dav especially with the game at the LSV, how is your conviction? -

Thanks for the reply Phantom, yes I know your plight only to well awaiting the end of season to make signings, but the reason for my comment was last season Fev jumped ahead of everyone else and signed a team which most thought - including me and a lot of my fellow Leigh fans - that would be winning the Championship then followed those up with some better signings, I really thought Leigh had been left well and truly behind, because it seemed you had signed what was available to win the Championship, and I would say that seems the policy for next season with these signings. Of your comments on the three signings, Mark K I agree seems to be the best one suited to SL but both he and Jonno F have been in the British game for 11 years and never been tried/tested at SL level and Ford does not give me the impression that he could manage the rigours, pressure and speed of a season of SL, as for Joey at 31 and applying himself there is no reason he shouldn't hack it, but the version who played at the LSV in June looked out of shape and slow. -

They did early doors Dav, and especially after that 28 - 6 win at POR, but they and I if it comes to that was not expecting Leigh to put a squad together as good as they have. -

Bold move or Fev has done the maths and SL funding will cover the short fall, albeit as I say I am much more confident than I was but it is not over till the fat lady sings. Do you want to take Big Mac with you next year whichever division you are in? -

Hmmm, has Fev decided that they are not going up this year, no disrespect but apart from Mark K. on good form, I don't see the other two as SL player's, Ford in my opinion never has been - and probably shared by SL clubs considering the amount of interest in him when he was out in the wilderness - and from what I have seen of Joey L which admittedly is against Leigh a team who can Monster him as opposed to other Champ clubs I don't think he would be SL quality either.. -

Nope £150K is the value that goes on the Cap Register, a club can give the player whatever he wants or are prepared to give them, to my knowledge the biggest ever was Money Bill Williams who reportedly got a million from Toronto -

Yes I know Bob, but if the vibes are true that Dr Koukash is getting on board we can pay much more than the reduced fees that count towards the cap, as I said we have one overseas space at the moment if MacDonald goes we will have two, but the marquee(s) doesn't have to be overseas player's. -

If Macdonald goes as I have said we have two places to fill. -

There's one place left as far as I know and two if McDonald goes to Leeds which a member of the club has intimated to me that it is very much on he is going, but I would have Mark Ioane before those mentioned in the previous post, very very good interchange prop and invariably makes things happen when he takes the field. -

Rumour has it, and strong roumer at that - albeit I don't agree with it at all if true - that Leigh have signed Jack Hughes, Robbie Mulhern and Ben Davis for next year (of those three Mulhern because if his age is the only one I would entertain) so these to go along with Josh Charnley from this depleted Warrington team this year, and while I have mentioned Josh Charnley of all the flack that Daryl Powell has had this term he is quite correct in getting shut of Charnley he is no longer a winger of SL quality, he gets fed loads of ball at Leigh in the Championship but I have yet to see him beat a man and he is as quick as Long John Silver, against York he must have had the ball and good ball on 15 occasions but if anyone was in front if him that was the end of that movement. Leigh have some good players they have signed on and taking into SL, but they are not enhancing those players with these signings if correct. -

Up to Reynolds being injured he was the better of the two, my opinion of course. -

No need got a goalkicking halfback at Leigh Wooly, we have Ben Reynolds who I thought was the better of the two between him and Mellor till he had a prolonged absence with a bad hand injury, came at the wrong time for him with Lam arriving. What about Ryley Jack's? -

Is that for this season or next? Hasn't the transfer window closed for this season now? If it is for next season you must be having a clear out of some of the older members of your roster, irrespective of if Fev will be in SL or chasing promotion again in the Championship. -

He's approaching 26, should be in his prime now, is he a player to take you onwards and upwards and into SL? -

OK sorry if I offended you, but your opening post was rather condescending in that you said "They won't be in a position to demand anything. If other clubs don't take players off their hands, they are in deep doo-doo" The thing is unless the club has offered contracts to any of it's players this mid season and had them accepted, they are free agents to go where they please and Leigh have no hold or call on them, yes you are correct in that they can only have 7 overseas player's, there are 6 already signed - inc Nene Macdonald so if anyone one wants him they will have to cough up - so one space left to fill. -

Good question, not as I know of but considering he has brought his lad over for next season and he has laid down what and who he wants for next season, I would wager he is staying.
