@John Drake you might want to double check the TO v Whitehaven time, it's 17h00 UK time, 18H00 France time
-
I wonder if the Eng V FR match with be on Via Occitanie, as the TO v Fev match is on later....it's going to be camera crazy for a while!
It would seem a shame as I assume they would be using the same production company that they can't broadcast all matches on the same platform

Also on the newspaper websites of Midi Libre, L’indépendant et La Dépêche du Midi, wonder if they're also geoblocked?
I'm sure a Whitehaven fan or two will update us after the match, or more probably, during the match

It, like NATV, is a free live stream that you watch through their website.
Yes, on the Internet via their website but also by the TV providers, which will push RL to a wider french audience.
Sur la la TNT, canal 31 à Toulouse et Montpellier, canal 33 dans les pays Gardois et Catalan. Mais aussi sur les Box de vos opérateurs, Via Occitanie Toulouse est accessible sur :

Basically, all the next home matches will be on viàOccitanie

Yes sorry Brochon. He looks a good player and useful wherever he is played.
I think he has matured this season. He had a family calamity last season but he was determined to play through it and he seems to have grown into a stronger player. Fullback seems to be his preferred position but he can also play along side Shorrocks as a half. (by the way, there is no money for Zac Santo as a 3rd fullback)
For me, he should have played in the final against Broncos (along with with Mathieu Laguerre), playing Shorrocks (hadn't played for 5 weeks) and Jussaume (was only fit enough for 10 mins) was the wrong decision.

If you’d like to contact me via the club at info@swintonlionsrlfc.co.uk with regards to your observations on the Swinton official I’d be happy to look into it . Hopefully you’ll also be able to justify the pleasant language you’ve used.
Steve , CEO , Swinton LionsThanks Steve. I am in the process of writing to the RL. You will receive a copy in due course.

Both looked to everyone in the ground to be a clear cut case. Amazing that these seemingly dangerous incidents happen with no further action but you see stuff like the Cameron Smith incident getting a 1 match ban originally. There's no wonder fans have no faith with the disciplinary.
And York have ended up with a key player getting a 1 match ban from the game.
Absolutely agree about H. Sita not so much.
The York lad, Harris?, did dump Gahan onto his head so that was a bit off.
Swinton this Saturday. Sita got binned twice when TO lost at Swinton last year....just saying

Hansen head contact on Myles Harrison
Akouala leading with the elbow, knocked Ronan Michael sparko
.........and they decided that nothing happened!
Or rather, nothing that warrantied a ban. Slightly odd decision but one mustn't grumble.

I've re-watched it. H was really reckless, hit the guy when he was already on the deck
Sita... I'm not so sure. It wasn't his elbow. Just a big hit on the poor lad.
Doesn't matter what we think anyway.. disciplinary committee are the ones that decide what happens.

It was the kind of thing you might expect from a hot-headed youngster, overexcited on his debut. Hansen knows better.
Any idea what we he did? I paid 4.95 of your English pounds to watch the match and I still can't see what he did. Same for Sitaleki , I am sure both red cards were merited but it was all a blurr on the t'interweb
-
Ryan Rivett anyone know anything about him? He's only 21 and will be at TO for 2 years.

Do they still have that bar in the corner, with a terrace with tables with views of the pitch? All grounds should have one of those!
Yes, it's still there. It needs to be a tad warmer before I even think about sitting over there for a beer.
Not much of a crowd to be honest. The band were excellent. No dancing girls.

Yes, although to be fair greater than most in the Championship clubs would manage. There's huge potential in Toulouse, and great corporate dollar, I just think whatever they're doing to create crowds at the moment isn't working. Not convinced by the move to the Union stadium to be honest, hard to create an atmosphere there. Much better experience at the smaller ground in Blagnac, but guess they can't do the corporate stuff there.
I'm back at Blagnac today, for Blagnac v Tarbes. It is a much better venue for smaller crowds.

Recruitment for next season has been underwhelming to say the least
Yes, quite.
Smallest squad I think in the league for the 2024 season.
I'm all for adding new French blood but he has yet to entice the best. Mathieu Laguerre at the very least would be a start.
Like I said he talks the talk but that's all it is at the moment.
-
He's spent a lot of time getting assurances from everyone else to spend their money but until he starts dipping into his own trousers I will remain indifferent. To be a SL club you need a SL mentality, not just within the team on the pitch but off it also. I don't see that yet.

Fev play Wakefield in the second league game on the 29th. They're away at Batley 1st out (17th)
Yes, you're right. Sorry...I should wear glasses more often, and drink less red wine!
I won't be posting much this season as i won't be going to many Toulouse games.

Close...I got the date right for the 1st match. Seems Fev have the privilege of Wakefield.

Shame that his new augmented budget didn't extend to rewarding the staff for this season.
The team is unchanged. Where other teams have squads up to 30 and have been recruiting heavily, TO will stay pretty much unchanged for this season. I can't see more Elites other than Wail joining the first team so they will be stretched again to keep everyone fit. They've managed it for the last couple of years but players are getting older and need more careful management.
Still, they will probably manage top 5 again... maybe.
-
Not Kenya...however, the French International, Laureane Biville, has a tournament named after her in Cameroon to help promote the women's game in Africa.

Harrison Hansen going nowhere - signed on for another year at Toulouse Olympique XIII.
Most of the squad from last year are staying. H, god knows how, is still going but will need to be managed carefully.
First new signing of the season, Paul Ulberg.
